Region X Conference

It's time to register for this year's Region X Medical Education Conference! #RMEC2018

The Region X Medical Education Conference (RMEC), will be held November 3rd at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN! Our team has been working incredibly hard over the past few months to bring you a conference that you do not want to miss! This year's conference themed "SNMA Past & Present: Healthcaring for Our Communities" seeks to highlight various community-based partnership to take a hard look at how we care for our communities. This years conference will also include a dedicated pre-medical symposium with hands-on clinical and admissions workshops, a research symposium, and much more!




Have you recently completed research in basic, clinical/translational or social science? Would you like an opportunity to present your work at a research symposium?Do you want to update your CV and be more competitive for residency programs, medical school, or other allied health programs?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, submit your abstract to the RMEC 2018 Research Symposium! Abstracts will be accepted from registered attendees and awards will be given to the top poster presentations!

We will be organizing a supplies drive for The Renewal House---a Nashville-area shelter focused on providing rehabilitation support to at-risk women and their young children. The Renewal House is the only long-term rehabilitation facility for women in central Tennessee that focuses on treating women and their children together.

The Renewal House has voiced to us that they are in need of donations for their residents. Specifically, they are requesting feminine hygiene products as well as supplies for infants and young children (see list below). We encourage each chapter to partner with your school's Women's Health Club, or any related organization, to maximize the impact Region 10 can make on The Renewal House.

Must be a nationally registered and dues-paying member of SNMA-MAPS
Must currently attend an accredited university in Kentucky/Tennessee OR must be a post-baccalaureate student living in Kentucky/Tennessee

-Up to 30 scholarships will be awarded in total on a first come first serve basis.
- Scholarship will only cover the cost of RMEC registration for premedical or post-baccalaureate students.

Dispersement of Funds
Must complete an application, attend event, and provide brief ~1 paragraph reflection with pictures explaining the event and your participation submitted to region10secretary@snma.org within 30 days after the event.
A unique registration link with be sent to each scholarship recipient prior to the event.

Our team has been working incredibly hard over the past few months to bring you a conference that you definitely do not want to miss!

Early bird registration is now available for both medical and pre-medical students! Early-bird prices will be available until Thursday October 19th ($38 for medical students, $30 for pre-medical students). We will continue to provide updates in the Facebook group "SNMA Region X," so please join the group and add your chapter members if you already haven't!
Hotel: Holiday Inn at Vanderbilt at 2613 West End Ave, Nashville, TN 37203. A limited number of double rooms have been reserved at a reduced rate, so book as soon as you can!
